For then VP-Elect Kamala Harris, Jan. 6 was worse than we knew

On one of the most destructive days of our democracy, then Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was too close for comfort. 

According to POLITICO, it was recently discovered that Harris was near a planted pipe bomb at Washington’s DNC Building on the afternoon of January 6th. Earlier that morning she worked inside the Capitol building and it was previously thought that she along with her staff were securely hulled up there as the mass of maniacal marauders invaded. 

Perhaps it was a Black woman’s intuition or maybe she could smell looming whiffs of treason in the air, but whatever reason she left one war zone only to find another ticking threat awaiting.

Once alerted about the pipe bomb just outside of the DNC building, she was evacuated and the bomb was shortly neutralized thereafter. 

More questions than answers remain

So many questions came to mind as the mayhem unfolded and just like the Committee investigating those events, more answers – but not all – are beginning to trickle out. 

To this day the FBI has yet to locate who planted both bombs. The agency offers a $100,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the suspect’s capture.

Angry over a free and fair election defeat and fueled by the whines and whimpers of a withered leader, mobs of crazed men and women decided to take the law into their own hands. Wielding bear sprays, barricades, flag poles, police batons, and whatever they could grab, America’s underbelly had never looked so deplorable in recent history.

Most of us watched it horrifically unfold on television and cell phones but for the Capitol Officers engaged in combat, it was pure hell. As a gallows erected to lynch then-VP Mike Pence outside the Capitol steps, unbeknownst to us the future second-in-command’s livelihood was also in jeopardy around the same time. It was a bone-chilling culmination of propaganda’s effects on those most vulnerable and susceptible to clearly disprovable lies.

With over 700 arrests along with the Oath Keepers founder arrested for seditious conspiracy involving January 6th, accountability is finally coming to those who brought tyranny to our nation’s Capital. The only question left is, will it happen again?
