TULSA, Okla. — Friendship Church will present its inaugural Buy Black Expo on Sunday, February 23, 2020, from 12 pm to 3 pm at 1709 N Madison Ave Tulsa, Oklahoma 74106.
As the community closes out Black History Month, the event seeks to highlight over 30 local black entrepreneurs who are members of their church and community. Friendship Church will give these entrepreneurs an opportunity to sell their products and services to the community.
A wide variety of vendors, from a black-owned coffee shop to hair products, will be present.
Pastor Jamaal Dyer of Friendship Church said, “I think it’s a really good idea for the church to incorporate this. It’s rare for a church to host an event that highlights black-owned businesses and encourages the church and community to patronize them.”
The north Tulsa church event is delighted to have a few youth entrepreneurs participating as well.
The Buy Black expo attempts to continue the legacy of Black Wall Street by patronizing Black-owned businesses by circulating dollars within Tulsa’s Black community.
