Tulsa, Okla.— Starting Friday, July 16, Cox Movie Nights on the QuikTrip Great Lawn return to Gathering Place. This free, family movie series will kick off with a showing of Disney’s Frozen at 6:30 p.m., along with Frozen-themed programming where guests can enjoy snow cones, build ice castles, and meet beloved characters from the film in the Park.
“We are beyond excited to bring Cox Movie Nights back to Gathering Place this summer,” said Roger Ramseyer, Market Vice President for Cox Communications. “We know many are ready to be out and about and there’s no better place for families than Gathering Place.”
Gathering Place, in partnership with Cox Communications, will show a family-favorite film with themed activities once a month from July through November. Upcoming Cox Movie Nights include Toy Story on August 20, The Princess & The Frog on September 17, Hocus Pocus on October 22, and the live-action version of The Lion King on November 12. All Cox Movie Nights are free to the public, and guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to watch the films.
About Gathering Place: A Park for All
Gathering Place is a world-class, 66.5-acre Park that will ultimately transform nearly 100 acres of Tulsa’s iconic waterfront along the Arkansas River into a dynamic, interactive environment. Created by the George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF), Gathering Place is a natural space where members of Tulsa’s diverse communities can come together to explore, learn, and play.
GKFF and numerous corporate and community philanthropists gave ownership of the $465 million Park to River Parks Authority, which signed a long-term operational and management lease back to an entity of the foundation to ensure the highest quality operation, maintenance, and programming for the life of the Park in a public-private partnership.
Gathering Place is part of GGP Parks, LLC. Visit www.gatheringplace.org for more information.
